Dearest readers, quite a bit has happened since I have become lost. However, I suppose I should begin where I had left off.
As you well know, I had become quite lost in a town named Innsmouth, a rather decrepit and unsettling place along the Essex County coast in Massachusetts. As well as, oddly enough, following a feline through the swirling mist. That in itself was quite a challenge, for its coat was as gray as the fog itself.
After several hours of following. The cat had led this writer to a rather ancient looking dock where it had become clear the vocalizations were coming from. Much to one’s surprise, the singing was coming from an aged man standing on the dock and patching a net.
Upon first glance, the man had put up a facade of an angry, loathsome creature, however, a glimmer in his eye gave way to the ploy. I had learned his name was Arik Metzger and he was the harbor master for the town of Innsmouth. I had thought to ask him about the cat. He had informed me, in his unusual drawl “The stray brings strays.” and that “Strays tend to stay.” He was then kind enough to point me to several areas of interest.
After a pleasant chat with the man, and with the cat seemingly watching, I chose to head off to a farm that was supposedly quite unusual these days. Dear reader, I tell you, unusual does not begin to scratch the surface of what I had witnessed. Colors, as this writer has never once imagined, swirling, dancing, flowing as if a river all abouts the farm. The well, seeming to be its source.
This reporter can hardly describe the scene in depth, due to being uncertain that madness had not taken a role in the scene. Strangely deformed farm animals, butterflies that seemed to be made out of color and light themselves. Something dreadful has clearly happened. Strangely, the farm seemed inhabited, or recently abandoned. The feeling is as if abandonment was sudden and unexpected. The dining table still set, questionable food in pots on the stove.
