Red’s Mystery Shack

Dear readers, I am momentarily back with some…. Interesting places and oddities. So sorry for the long delay between posts and the very false start a few months back.

You know how many times, if your family was like many, that you were on a road trip? Seeing the backwoods, lost country? If so.. I think I’ve found the place for you. This lovely bit of road trip nostalgia is called Red’s mystery shack. very nostalgic if you look at the gas prices.. 1.92 a gallon!

When arriving, you will notice a rather rustic, but charming, gas station. Upon entering there is a lovely collection of souvenirs, news and more. Being a curious one, I decided to read one of the newsletters. Seems the owner’s name is Mads. Good to know! The souvenirs are quite charming, from postcards to statuettes mostly bigfoot themed.

Tiring of shopping, this curious explorer decided to take a look around. It is eerily quiet except for the buzzing of the lights at the pump and the chirping of crickets. Looking just past the pumps, I noticed a rather… how to say this? Bizarre and familiar looking truck. I can not place my finger on where or when I’ve seen it.

Now let’s see to that shack. It appears quite charming.. with the odd gnome and the stack of tires. Oh wait! Is that a toilet go kart?

Dear reader.. I am quite sorry.. I can not even begin to describe what I have just witnessed. The collection of curiosities are definitely worth a look.. However, to describe it would not do it justice. Surprisingly after that, I am hungry.. Is that a diner down the road?

Dear reader.. I may have assumed incorrectly that this was just a single installment. There is a whole town, it seems, connected to it. I would highly recommend checking it out for yourself. Here is the MAP
